Idlewild Country Estate can comfortably host between 80 and 500 guests, making it perfect for everything from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations.
Do you have a backup generator?

Absolutely! Our standby generator ensures uninterrupted power, so your event shines on—even during load-shedding.
Do you have parking?

Yes, we offer ample, secure parking on-site, giving you and your guests one less thing to worry about on the big day.
Are you halaal or kosher certified?

Our kitchen is not Halaal, but we work with reputable Halaal suppliers to provide meals that meet your requirements.
We are Kosher certified, and happy to accommodate specific needs with advance notice.
Do you allow external catering?

Yes, we do allow external catering for Halaal and Kosher functions, ensuring your guests enjoy meals that honour their preferences.
Is the venue wheelchair friendly?

Yes, Idlewild is fully wheelchair accessible, ensuring that all your guests feel welcome and comfortable.
Are there any sound restrictions?

Not at all! We have no sound restrictions, so you can turn up the volume and celebrate without limits.
Do you host more than one function per day?

Never. We’re all about exclusive focus — your event is the only one happening on the day, ensuring personalised service and full attention.
Do you cater for Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten free?

Absolutely. We always request dietary requirements in advance and are happy to craft delicious meals to suit all dietary needs.
What are your payment methods?

We accept EFT, Zapper, SnapScan, and Credit Card. Please note: we don’t accept cash on the premises.
What is your cancellation policy?

Should you need to cancel, the full deposit will be forfeited.
For the remaining balance of your invoice, the following applies:
- 6 months or less before the event – 50% of the total will be charged
- 3 months or less before the event – 75% of the total will be charged
- 1 month or less before the event – 100% of the total will be charged
We understand that plans change, so we encourage early communication wherever possible.
What does the venue hire include?

Your venue hire gives you exclusive access to:
- The chapel, reception hall, veranda, and lawn area
- Beautiful wooden tables and 150 wooden chairs
- All cutlery, crockery, and glassware needed for your celebration
- Chapel / Blesbuck hall 150 crossback chairs
How to secure the venue and date?

Simply pay the venue hire fee, and your date is officially secured!
Do you have a standard list of suppliers or can I use my own suppliers?

We offer a curated list of trusted recommended suppliers, but you are more than welcome to bring your own.
Do You Allow Food Tastings?

Absolutely — in fact, we highly recommend it! It’s the best way to ensure the menu is exactly to your taste.
How long do I have the venue for?

Your booking includes 8 hours of exclusive venue access, giving you ample time to celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories.
Do you charge a breakage deposit?

Yes, a refundable breakage deposit is required. This ensures peace of mind for both you and us — and it's returned after the event, provided everything is in order.
Can I bring my own cake?

Absolutely! While we do have a preferred cake supplier, you're more than welcome to bring your own cake to suit your celebration and taste.
